Portal Knihovny.cz provides the unified access to services offered by Czech libraries - for everyone, from everywhere and anytime.
This portal allows you to search catalogs of all participating libraries using a single search bar.

The densest public libraries infrastructure in the European Union is the pride of the Czech Republic, and Knihovny.cz has the ambition to become the gateway to the most of them. The growing list of already participating libraries is available here.
Current features of Knihovny.cz
The portal provides the same features those available in online catalogues of participating libraries:
- Search and check current availabillity of books, journals, audio and videodocuments, articles and other documents in holdings of participating libraries
- Ordering publications from stack and making reservations of borrowed documents
- Overview of your loans and loans renewing
- Information about your library card validity, blockings, charges and fees (with the option to pay online at some libraries)
- Book Bag to save lists of favorite titles

Context
Portal Knihovny.cz is a project set in the Concept of Czech Republic Library Development for the years 2011 to 2015 and Concept of Czech Republic Library Development for the years 2017 to 2020. Organizational matters of the portal are the responsibility of SDRUK (Association of Czech Republic Libraries). The Central Portal of Libraries brings the entire Czech librarianship closer to trend , which is widespreadin Western Europe. Whether this concerns Finnish portal Finna.fi, Danish Bibliotek.dk or Dutch Bibliotheek.nl. All these projects share a common goal to simplify accessibility of information and documents and offer the resources of the libraries including their services, all in one place.
